But in German, the words change depending on the verb!<\/p>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\">German sentences have different types of objects:<\/p>\r\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"6\">\r\n<li>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"6,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">The Accusative Object:<\/b> Usually the <i data-path-to-node=\"6,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"35\">thing<\/i> or <i data-path-to-node=\"6,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"44\">person<\/i> that receives the action directly (answering the question: <b data-path-to-node=\"6,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"110\">What?<\/b> or <b data-path-to-node=\"6,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"119\">Whom?<\/b>).<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"6,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"6,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">The Dative Object:<\/b> Usually the <i data-path-to-node=\"6,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"31\">person<\/i> who receives a benefit or an item indirectly (answering the question: <b data-path-to-node=\"6,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"108\">To whom?<\/b>).<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"8\">1. Verbs with Accusative (Akkusativ)<\/h3>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"9\">Most German verbs use the Accusative case. If you do an action to a masculine item, the word <b data-path-to-node=\"9\" data-index-in-node=\"93\">der<\/b> changes to <b data-path-to-node=\"9\" data-index-in-node=\"108\">den<\/b>. Feminine (<b data-path-to-node=\"9\" data-index-in-node=\"123\">die<\/b>) and neutral (<b data-path-to-node=\"9\" data-index-in-node=\"141\">das<\/b>) words stay the same!<\/p>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10\">Here are easy examples:<\/p>\r\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"11\">\r\n<li>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"11,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"11,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">sehen<\/b> (to see): Ich sehe <b data-path-to-node=\"11,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"25\">den<\/b> Film. <i data-path-to-node=\"11,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"35\">(I see the movie.)<\/i><\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"11,1,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"11,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">kaufen<\/b> (to buy): Ich kaufe <b data-path-to-node=\"11,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"27\">das<\/b> Buch. <i data-path-to-node=\"11,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"37\">(I buy the book.)<\/i><\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"11,2,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"11,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">waschen<\/b> (to wash): Ich wasche <b data-path-to-node=\"11,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"30\">das<\/b> Auto. <i data-path-to-node=\"11,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"40\">(I wash the car.)<\/i><\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"12\">2. Verbs with Dative (Dativ)<\/h3>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"13\">Some special German verbs always need the Dative case. These verbs usually show a connection to a person.
