They are numbers like <b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"48\">first<\/b>, <b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"55\">second<\/b>, and <b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"67\">third<\/b>. In German, we call them <b data-path-to-node=\"4\" data-index-in-node=\"98\">Ordnungszahlen<\/b>.<\/p>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\">We use them to show a position or a place in a row. They are very important for learning the date in German.<\/p>\r\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"6\">The First 5 Numbers<\/h3>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7\">Here are the most common ordinal numbers you need to know. Just watch out for <b data-path-to-node=\"9,0\" data-index-in-node=\"154\">erst-<\/b> (first) and <b data-path-to-node=\"9,0\" data-index-in-node=\"172\">dritt-<\/b> (third) because they are special!<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"11\">How to Use Them<\/h3>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"12\">In German, we write a <b data-path-to-node=\"12\" data-index-in-node=\"22\">dot<\/b> after the number to show it is an ordinal number. For example, <b data-path-to-node=\"12\" data-index-in-node=\"89\">1.<\/b> means <i data-path-to-node=\"12\" data-index-in-node=\"98\">erst-<\/i> (1st).<\/p>\r\n<p data-path-to-node=\"13\">Because these words talk about a noun, they change their ending like adjectives.
